Farewell to Summer! >>> Knoxville Family Photographer

This session was the perfect last hoorah for summer. Perfect weather, sun-kissed skin, cut off jean shorts and pony tails. I love fall but I have been savoring these last summery days we've been having here in East Tennessee. I met this wonderful family after stopping by their family farm, Riverview Family Farm several months ago when I was location scouting near our house. It is a beautiful little slice of heaven on lake Loudon. You can hold all kinds of events here like birthday parties, weddings, etc. You should check them out! I had so much fun with this family out on this gorgeous property playing in the sun, dancing and making silly faces. Thank you Samulski family for letting me come and hang out with you guys for a while. I hope you will treasure these images of your beautiful family. Enjoy! 2013-09-08_0001 2013-09-08_0002 2013-09-08_0003 2013-09-08_0004 2013-09-08_0005 2013-09-08_0006 2013-09-08_0007 2013-09-08_0008 2013-09-08_0009 2013-09-08_0010 2013-09-08_0011 2013-09-08_0012 2013-09-08_0013 2013-09-08_0014 2013-09-08_0015

Mattie's 13th Birthday Party >>> Knoxville Lifestyle Family Photographer

Last weekend I got to photograph Mattie and her friends and family at her 13th birthday party. These girls had so much fun! They had me cracking up all night. Before everyone got there I pulled Mattie and her sister aside for a little photo shoot. Hope you had a blessed birthday Mattie! I am praying for God's blessings on you as you continue to grow in His Grace! 2013-09-07_0015 2013-09-07_0016 2013-09-07_0017 2013-09-07_0018 2013-09-07_0019 2013-09-07_0020 2013-09-07_0021 2013-09-07_0022 2013-09-07_0023 2013-09-07_0024

Cedar 3 Year Portraits >>> Knoxville Child Photographer

I felt right at home last week at this little guys session since I chase a 3 year old around with my camera all the time at home! I love this age. Maybe it's because I have a 3 year old but I just think they are so funny and full of life! And Cedar is just so stinkin' cute! I mean, come on, that hair! those lashes! those eyes! I'm looking forward to a session this fall with Cedar's whole family (he's the baby of 6!). 2013-09-04_0001 2013-09-04_0002 2013-09-04_0003 2013-09-04_0004 2013-09-04_0005 2013-09-04_0006 2013-09-04_0007 2013-09-04_0008 2013-09-04_0009

Mamarazzi >>> August low light

I am always trying to improve in my photography skills. I am a natural light photographer and sometimes indoor natural light can be a challenge. Since I do all my newborn sessions in my clients homes, I never know until I get there what kind of light will be available to me. We recently moved to a new home and we love it but it unfortunately doesn't have the best natural light in the summer because we are surrounded by thick woods. So recently I've been thinking, what better place for me to practice my indoor natural lighting skills than in my own home. So today I had my best model help me out before nap time. :) This was the result of todays exercise and I loved the way it turned out. Hope ya'll have a great weekend. 2013-08-09_0002

Silhouettes >>> Knoxville, Tn Maternity Photographer

If you have spent any time at all looking at my blog, (and I hope you have:)) you know that I love silhouettes, especially with expecting mommas. I love how they show off the beautiful lines of a pregnant woman's body. Silhouettes are such a timeless, classic way to document this stage in life. They area also a great way to capture little details in babies, children and families. Here are a few of my past silhouettes that I love...2013-06-18_0001.jpg2013-06-18_0002.jpg2013-06-13_0007.jpg 2013-06-18_0003.jpg

It was so fun getting to spend some time with you guys again. Mamarazzi >>> Christmas in June

This morning, a few minutes after Daddy left for work we heard him beeping his horn in the driveway. He had returned home with this little guy. And seriously, it is like Christmas in June around here. My kiddos have been giddy all day. Sadly, for them (but not for Mr. Turtle) he got away while we went in for lunch. Hope you are having a fun Monday too!2013-06-03_0001.jpg2013-06-03_0002.jpg

Get ready to gush.....because this little doll is incredibly adorable! I was lucky enough to get to photograph little Lily + a few shots of her big brother Luke at her 9 month session last week and we had such a great time. Lily was so happy the whole time. Mamarazzi >>> The light after the storm

This afternoon I had a session canceled due to a crazy pop up thunderstorm. It came out of no where! Black clouds, high winds and rain. It didn't take us long to realize this was no environment for a 9 month old, so I went on home. Of course though, about 30 minutes after I got home we had the most gorgeous and beautiful light outside so I decided to take the kiddos outside and have a little family session of our own. I couldn't help but think of those who were affected yesterday in Oklahoma by those devastating storms. I felt overwhelmed with the fact that my family is safe and here with me tonight and we can sleep in our own house. We are praying for those who don't have this luxury tonight and praying that the God of all comfort will be their refuge in this time of need.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" Psalm 34:18

Rice Family >>> Knoxville Family Photographer

I really enjoying getting to know other young families that are in a similar stage of life that my own family is in. I recently got to meet the Rice family and their 3 sweet little girls. We had so much fun and I felt right at home chasing around their little ones and clicking away. Enjoy this busy, exhausting, joy filled, wonderful stage in life! Thank you for letting me document it for you! 2013-04-27_0002.jpg 2013-04-27_0013.jpg 2013-04-27_0014.jpg 2013-04-27_0004.jpg 2013-04-27_0005.jpg 2013-04-27_0006.jpg 2013-04-27_0007.jpg 2013-04-27_0008.jpg 2013-04-27_0009.jpg 2013-04-27_0010.jpg 2013-04-27_0011.jpg 2013-04-27_0012.jpg

Mamarazzi >>> Non-traditional portraits

I got the idea from another photographer momma friend to do a quick 2 minute portrait session with my kiddos to snap several different expressions no matter what they are and putting them together to have a little snippet of my little one's personalities. I was so excited to do it because hers were so cute. Here is my version. Give it a try yourself! Have a great weekend!!! portraits-1 portraits-2

Claxton Family >>> Knoxville Lifestyle Family Photographer

I am so excited to share this beautiful family session with you today. I had so much fun with this wonderful family this week. I have recently gotten to know Alissa because she is a doula with Open Heart Doula service. I am teaming up with this incredible group of women to offer birth photography services and got to work directly with Alissa just last week when I photographed the Trusty family's birth. So of course I was so excited when Alissa asked me to take family photos for them. This family is so much fun and full of energy! Thank you for the opportunity to spend a beautiful afternoon with your family. Enjoy! PS Get ready for baby Hannah to melt your heart...she is ADORABLE!

Mamarazzi >>> March Snow Day

I wanted to start a little series called Mamarazzi where I can post some personal photos. If you are a Mama, most likely you are a member of the Mamarazzi. I certainly am! I following my kids around like they are celebrities(to me they are!) I've always loved photography but my kids certainly have been the catalyst for me to improve on my skills so that I can look back in years to come and see these moments frozen in time. This time it was a snow day. We don't get a lot of snow here in Knoxville and in fact this snow was gone by lunch time, so we had to savor it while we could. It wasn't much but by golly we built the best 6 inch snowman you've ever seen! Beck had the most fun trying to catch the flakes on his tongue and Sissy watched from the kitchen window. Three days later, we enjoyed a walk this morning wearing short sleeves. Gotta love East Tennessee weather. Hope you're having a great weekend!
