I love 6 month old babies! They are just so much fun to photograph. Rolly Polly smiley, and if you're lucky, a little sitting up. I had the best time at this little guy's session. He had me rolling around all over the ground with him at his session to capture his sweetness. Thankfully, his momma and I spent a little time chatting and catching up afterwords and right as everyone was about to leave, the sun came out and we got some last minute shots with the yummiest, golden light. This afternoon I had a session canceled due to a crazy pop up thunderstorm. It came out of no where! Black clouds, high winds and rain. It didn't take us long to realize this was no environment for a 9 month old, so I went on home. Of course though, about 30 minutes after I got home we had the most gorgeous and beautiful light outside so I decided to take the kiddos outside and have a little family session of our own. I couldn't help but think of those who were affected yesterday in Oklahoma by those devastating storms. I felt overwhelmed with the fact that my family is safe and here with me tonight and we can sleep in our own house. We are praying for those who don't have this luxury tonight and praying that the God of all comfort will be their refuge in this time of need.

A while back I got to photograph Sarah Crawford and her beautiful baby bump. You can see that here. And I am so excited today to get to share the Crawford family's newborn session. Baby R is such a sweet, cute, cuddly bundle and he seems to fit right into this busy family. He is so blessed to be a part of this wonderful family, with a Momma who loves him, a Daddy who adores him and three older siblings to show him the ropes. Congratulations Crawford family! I can't think of a more appropriate time to post this birth story than today to kick off Mother's Day weekend. I got to meet Leigh and her husband Scott last week at the birth of her son. Scott was such a sweet and supportive husband during Leigh's labor. Baby S took his time getting here, but when he decided to make his entrance he came fast! Birth is so unpredictable, and after an intense delivery, Leigh and Scott got to settle in and enjoy their sweet new baby boy. Congratulations Wilson family! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of documenting this day for you!

I really enjoying getting to know other young families that are in a similar stage of life that my own family is in. I recently got to meet the Rice family and their 3 sweet little girls. We had so much fun and I felt right at home chasing around their little ones and clicking away. Enjoy this busy, exhausting, joy filled, wonderful stage in life! If you know the Crawford family, I know you love them. I have been lucky enough to know them and to have gotten to serve with them in my church and their daughter is one of our favorite babysitters. So I was thrilled to photograph Sarah and her sweet bonus baby bump! Sarah is absolutely beautiful and we had such a great time catching up on life and motherhood. I love to photograph newborns and this little boy was especially special because I got to see and document his arrival into this world just last week. I have loved getting to know this very special family. This baby boy was a dream for me. He slept the whole time during our session and was so precious. There is nothing as sweet as a newborn baby. Enjoy this time Trusty family. You will always remember these snuggles, yawns and precious little smiles during these days. They go by so quickly! Enjoy!

I am so excited to share this beautiful family session with you today. I had so much fun with this wonderful family this week. I have recently gotten to know Alissa because she is a doula with Open Heart Doula service. I am teaming up with this incredible group of women to offer birth photography services and got to work directly with Alissa just last week when I photographed the Trusty family's birth. So of course I was so excited when Alissa asked me to take family photos for them. This family is so much fun and full of energy! I feel so fortunate to get to be photographing all these beautiful pregnant women lately. I think pregnant women are so gorgeous and my friend Sarah is no exception. I met up with Sarah and her husband Marshall this weekend to document this precious time in their lives as a family. They had me cracking up our whole session. This past week I had the privilege to photograph the birth of a very sweet couple. I have a few photos of my both my own births and I treasure them, so I was so excited to get to photograph Chris and Ellen's big day. Ellen was a rockstar! She did so awesome and Chris was such a sweet and supportive husband during her labor. Baby Caleb is really blessed to have such wonderful parents. Congratulations Ellen and Chris! There is this really awesome family that I go to church. Seriously, they are great. They are so much fun and always serving and I just love that! So, I was so excited to get to do senior photos this past weekend for their oldest son, Daniel, who is graduating from high school this spring. Daniel is such a great guy. This is such a fun time in life and I wish you nothing but the best of God's blessings! Enjoy!

Caroline and Ryan are expecting their first baby in a few weeks and I was lucky enough to get to photograph this beautiful Mama yesterday before baby Levensen arrives. They are such a fun couple and are going to make great parents! Congratulations on your first baby! They aren't finding out the sex so I'm gonna guess GIRL! and Ryan, she will be a Daddy's girl. I wanted to start a little series called Mamarazzi where I can post some personal photos. If you are a Mama, most likely you are a member of the Mamarazzi. I certainly am! I following my kids around like they are celebrities(to me they are!) I've always loved photography but my kids certainly have been the catalyst for me to improve on my skills so that I can look back in years to come and see these moments frozen in time. This time it was a snow day. We don't get a lot of snow here in Knoxville and in fact this snow was gone by lunch time, so we had to savor it while we could. It wasn't much but by golly we built the best 6 inch snowman you've ever seen! Beck had the most fun trying to catch the flakes on his tongue and Sissy watched from the kitchen window. Three days later, we enjoyed a walk this morning wearing short sleeves. Gotta love East Tennessee weather. Hope you're having a great weekend!
This is my first official post so I'm so glad you've stopped by to check it out. It didn't hurt that I had a beautiful expectant mother that made my job very easy! I had such a great time getting to know Mike and Lauren during our session. They were such great sports especially since I had them trudging through the mud and weeds during our shoot!
